Homemade Toothpaste

I’m not sure everybody knows that I love organic homemade products. I rarely buy any products from shops any longer. I buildt my network of homemade stuff suppliers and I also love doing and experimenting. Today I show two recipes for homemade toothpaste here – I can tell you they work from my own experience! and the recipes are easy to follow and ready in 5 minutes 🙂 What can be better than that?   The first one is the one in the image. And the recipe?

Mix a mashed berry with a little baking soda. Its a natural tooth whitener. See more here

Today I’m going to make this as I bought some strawberries from local farmers – I know, I know they are delicious, but one strawberry used for whitening my teeth is acceptable for me 🙂

The other one: DIY toothpaste This image is from my homemade toothpaste from about 2 years ago. -Yes, I’m Hungarian – if you were wondering about the language on the label. I have since made several types but the basics is this recipe found here. Now you can make your own too in literally 2-5 minutes. They are extremely cheap to make but very effective and organic.

  1. Great idea!!! We are really particular and careful about our toothpaste. There are so many harmful things in it now that if we understood that we wouldn’t put it in our mouth.

    • I completely agree with what you say! Once a tooth specialist told me that our teeth need only brushing, we could skip using toothpaste! Now, that made me think!

  2. Thank you for this post! I will try this with my son as I am afraid to start him with the typical toothpaste we buy at drugstores. This is natural and homemade which is much better!

  3. During my high school days, I made a toothpaste out of egg shells and baking soda too. Thanks for posting this article.

  4. Seems like a great idea and I am all for using organic products, but wouldn’t the natural sugars in the berries cause more potential harm then good? Makes me wonder…

  5. Its look like good but i cnt make every morning….. 🙂

  6. I didn’t know we can make our own toothpaste. Wow. So brilliant you are. Another great DIY post 🙂

  7. wow. seriously? it is a good remedy! BTW, how much does it cost?

  8. Szia Erzsebet! ( I know to speak Hungarian but I do not know to write very good, just some basics)
I must say, those recipes for toothpaste are quite interesting, I have never tought to make my own toothpaste, I was experiencing more with beauty products, but I might give it a try.
    Hugs,

    • Szia Rally 🙂

I experimented with beauty products as well – actually I don’t buy any from shops any longer, the toothpaste is just 5 minutes max. to make and lasts for a month – and it is dirt cheap this way 🙂

  9. You can even have those homemade toothpaste as a business especially since it’s organic and much safer than commercialized ones.

  10. great idea really amazing it is ,loving your blog much ,,very finest ideas and approach
    Good Luck

  11. I didn’t know it was that easy to make your own toothpaste! I’ll definitely try this in the future 🙂

  12. I cannot wait to try this!

  13. Great idea and this is fluoride free which is a good thing specially in places where they add fluoride to your water.

  14. Can you make more in detail steps to the preparation? And what other berries are good for whitening?
