I love making things for myself – this was such a project. It is made of 100% silk yarn, I knitted it then added the crochet edges to it. I’m really proud of it as it required a lot of patience from me – especially where the two colors intertwin. This image came out really funny – as if I had that big belly -maybe it is giving me a hint? Anyways, as you can see it was quite windy and the sun was shining at the same time so it was really difficult to shoot a good picture – and I was eager to share it to my subscribers so didn’t go out again to get a new one. If you would like to check out what I have on offer you can do it so here: Crochet For You
By the way I have a give away running and the price is $100. Want to be the lucky winner? All you have to do is click here and enter there for a chance to win 🙂
Now I am returning to my work in progress pieces – I have several actually – seems to be a habit of mine… I want to finish a crochet headband, a bra and the pair of earrings (one is ready – so just have to do the other one) this afternoon. Surely I also have a knitting project in progress which I do when I have to travel. I live in a big city and getting to places takes up time – why not use it efficiently?
As for this one…. well, it was supposed to be a woman’s summer hat I crocheted for myself from a pattern – well as you can see it turned out to be so small that it maybe can cover the top of my head… Have you already had a similar experience when following a pattern? So I re-purposed its function: I’ll have to make the last row and it will be a table coaster.
Although it is Autumn we have bright sunshine which makes the day quite pleasant. I’m looking through my planned programs and decided again to write them into a calendar as this morning I headed out for an event that is next Saturday! At least I know exactly where the venue is now 🙂 – let’s be positive about it.
I think my overlooking the date is mainly due to last night’s sweat lodge – a lot of things happened in there within me and I arrived home really late. Added to that I also have the muscle pain from my first 4 hour martial arts work-out. So no wonder that in the morning I was half asleep when I looked at the event that I thought is this Sunday.
Thus I missed the event I wanted to go to this Sunday… but then I thought to myself: there is a reason for everything. Maybe my body just wants to relax and fill itself up. So I just decided to stay in after I got home which I did.
Have you ever had this experience? How did you handle it?
Ronan Farrow, the only biological son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen is probably going to host his own program on MSNBC. He is on the way of becoming a superhero in my terms of using that word.
He is only 25 but has already been involved as an activist in a lot of programs like Aids in Africa or children caught in armed conflicts. While most young people are just starting their career at this age he has already written for multiple publications including The Wall Street Journal, International Herald Tribune and The Atlantic curving his career out.
Now I like having role models, people who I can look up to and see how I can become a better person. Another such hero in my eyes is Kristine Barnett who has done wonders not only with her own autistic son, but hundreds of children suffering from this “disease”. If you want to know more about her method read her book called: The Spark: A Mother’s Story of Nurturing Genius.
I actually started the habit to look out for positive news on the net. In a previous post I wrote about the importance of having a bug free mind, that is if we are in control of our minds we can create whatever we want – we become the creators. To achieve this it is of paramount importance to have positive thought – to help ourselves attract what we want into our lives. I’m kind of hooked up on this topic I know but I really believe in the power of our minds!
